The HOT designation refers to dogs that are Handler Owned and Trained. The criteria for designating a dog as HOT is per the vote of the 2006 National Board meeting.
When purchasing a scorebook or entering a trial with a H.O.T. dog, the handler/owner may be required to sign a statement that the requirements listed above have been met. Falsely entering a dog as a Handler Owner Trained (H.O.T.) will result in the handler being disqualified for "unsportsmanlike conduct” from the entered event, and may also result in possible Board of Inquiry charges. H.O.T. definition per the 2006 General Board Meeting, New Business, Item #5 2006 GBM Minutes
Scorebooks must be given to the trial secretary on Draw Night. All scorebooks will be returned at the closing cermonies. If you need to leave early, we can forward your scorebook by priority mail for $5. You will need to arrange this with the trial secretary. She will collect that service charge.
Only one USA-approved scorebook will be accepted for recording the event result. There will be no recording in multiple scorebooks such as DVG, WDA, or SV papers.
Canadian Scorebooks    According to Kelly Hope of the USA office, as long as the person resides in Canada, and belongs to the GSSCC ( they must show a current Canadian membership card), they will be exempted from having to have their score book stamped by the USA office.
