USA Teaching Judge Mike Hamilton is a familiar face around the USA Schutzhund scene. He began training his first German Shepherd for Schutzhund in 1979. In 1981, he was a founding member of the Western Indiana Schutzhund and Police Club. In 1982, he joined the Schutzhund 3 Club with his dog, Hero v Forst Haus. Mike breeds German Shepherds under the kennel name, Zucker Bucht Kennel.
As a trial helper, he worked thirty-eight USA trials including three USA National Events. He has been the Tracking Coordinator/Track Layer in eight North American/ FH Championships, four USA National Championships and sixteen Regional Championships.
As a USA Teaching/Performance Judge, he has judged over 150 events, fourteen national events, and nineteen regional Championships.
Mike has been an active supporter of USA. He is a past president of the United Schutzhund Clubs of America, holding office from 1998 through 2002. He has been a member of the USA Executive board for ten years and a member of the USA Judges Committee for four. Additionally, he has worked on the Board of Inquiry, National Events Committee. With his local club he has served as the Breed Warden and Tatooer.
